When jazz fans hear the names Monty Alexander, John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton in conjunction, they know they’ll be treated great music, played with inspiration, joy and absolutely amazing technical chops. Monty (piano), John (bass) and Jeff (drums) have performed together off and on for almost 40 years.

8. This is supposed to be the reunion from the trio's Montreaux debut seven years earlier. However, if you own Montreux Alexander and are looking for the same wild, propulsive music you'll be disappointed. On the other hand, if you want to enjoy Alexander backed by John Clayton on bass and Jeff Hamilton on drums playing with incredible musicality this is a great album/4/5(2).
